What we do

Hayley Townend works in our customer services team at our Normanton office and she is responsible for the day-to-day running of a major cruise line company.

“Working with my colleagues at Banner, I’m empowered to source, sort and ship supplies to a fleet of holiday cruise liners that could go anywhere in the world.

Banner supplies one of the largest cruise companies in the world, Carnival Group, which has 12 cruise ships that dock into Southampton and collect supplies from a holding warehouse before they sail away on the same day. It’s my responsibility to get all the shipments delivered to this warehouse in Southampton before each ship ports and then sails away. In the time leading up to each ship’s arrival, I’m busy sourcing the supplies that each ship needs from Banner for its next journey and 90% of this fulfilment is bespoke.

Because Carnival is parent to many more cruise ships across the globe, it arranges for these ships to receive deliveries anywhere in the world. I have to arrange for these ships’ supplies to go onto heat proof pallets ready to be freighted across the world.

If I were to miss a deadline, a ship would leave without its goods. The challenge of fulfilling these shipments is a hugely enjoyable one that I always meet.
